Parrots for the pirates.

So it's been a busy last few months and I kind of got real busy taking an active role in this so called life of ours around here. School is almost out for the summer and I'm pretty sure the adventures are about to begin. The boys have plans.....

Dougie's been having a great year, I went to a parent teacher conference to be told that Dougie is right where he needs to be, and that his strong subject just happens to be math. Definitely did not get that from me. He came home a while back talking about the field trip they were getting ready to take. He started out telling me and Grandma that he needed two bottles of water and the number only increased after that. So on the day of the field trip he decided jut to forget about the water bottles and go for the camel back. (which he pulled a dad said I could and then a mom said I could on Doug and I) His teacher told me it was the funniest thing. The moment that they took of walking Dougie had the hose thing in his mouth the whole time. When Dougie's passionate about something he finds a way to getting what he wants.

Daxton has had his tonsils taken out last month. He went through it better than I expected. I brought him home after the surgery and he then decided to really cause problems. I ended up wrestling with him to stay inside. I had to go pull him off his bike more than once and explain to him that he'd just gotten out of surgery and that he was supposed to rest. He tried pulling a fast one on his grandma and me the other day by going with us into the store. We were looking at flowers for headstones and of course Connor was causing a small amount of mischief so I ended up taking him and Daxton out to the car. When my mom came out she asked me why I needed fake parrots. I couldn't quit figure out what she was talking about. Well it comes down to that Daxton snuck them into the cart, when asked why he said "They're for Dougie and my pirate costumes.) While my mother went into take them back I had the ever so pleasant conversation with him on why we don't throw things into the cart without us knowing. His side was that some man came up and stuck them in and then he pushed him down.. Just another one of his stories.

Most days I look at Connor and wonder where exactly he came from. Doug and I have come to the conclusion that we should have named him "Anarchy," and that Connor absolutely does not like authority. He's definitely one of a kind. While we we're visiting with relatives over Mother's day weekend, He came into my grandma's house real excited about something. What I need to point out here is that he's really into matching things, so he get's excited when he finds things that happen to be the same. moving on with this story, he came in started pulling on my hand to follow him saying. "Mom there's a guy out there like the other, come on they are the same." At that moment I figured it out that he was taking me outside to go look at my twin cousins. So this last weekend Connor learned about twins.

Yes it seems we've gotten a little busy here. Hopefully the summer can be just as exciting for the boys. Well if summer ever comes. As one of my cousins put it, "I think that mother nature is bipolar." Hopefully this will be a fun filled summer for the boys.

Being sane is highly overated.

Okay so it finally happened, I got a break from the two little ones. Usually I would have thought that the time went by way too fast but, I've had a eye opener. I missed the little guys. I was left here with Dougie. Doug took the two younger ones over to see their grandparents last Sunday night after a party at chuck e cheese. Which in itself was another eye opener. I think that maybe my boys aren't little babies anymore. They ran all over the place having a good time, taking off in all different directions that it was all I could do to keep up with one at a time. The boys had so much fun that they where planning their next trip as soon as they got back home from their grandparents.

After four days of playing phone tag with Doug, his mother, my mother, sister and even my dad, for updates on what those two were up too. I was ready to see them here and I will admit there might have been some jumping up and down when they drove into the drive Thursday afternoon. I've spent the last few days holding them and watching a dominance struggle between all three boys over who get's to have mother's attention. The noise is back and the fights are happening at a regular pace. Things are being spilled and tantrums are being thrown over the stupidest things. Yes, this is our home and everything is once again back to normal for us.

So I bet your wondering what did I do in that time that was given to me, while Dougie was gone at school. I'm a freaking guitar hero that's what. The house stayed pretty clean for those days. Laundry was done. I learned what it's like to go into a store and take my time. There was no wrestling, screaming, punching, and my favorite the good old kick of a kid not getting his way. I got to sit out on my back porch and read. It was sooo nice.

That's are adventure of recent lately. Now I'm just looking forward to spring and seeing if Connor finally accomplished the unattainable, getting me kicked out of nursery. After getting a call that they wanted to talk to me about nursery, I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that I will get turned free.. Don't get me wrong I've had fun there. But, I'm around children twenty four seven. Half the time there not even mine. I think I should get to step out of the counting numbers, and reciting alphabet for a minute or two.. Hopefully...

excitement, drama, and peace all in a week...

Did you know that one week out of life can be one of the most boring weeks of life when the next week your wishing that a little of that last week would pour into the remaining current week. As you can probably tell it's been one of those weeks.. I'm just glad that it's coming to a close. That is probably why your seeing that I've decided to just go ahead and update this blog before I forget about it all.

Monday started out with Doug and I taking the two youngest ones, around doing a little shopping. Might I just say that someday, I will be able to walk into a store without one kid trying to get run over, and then running from aisle to aisle only to throw things in the cart that we absoultly don't need. Having tantrums in the middle of the floor, or trying to run everyone down in their path with a shopping cart. I look forward to that day.
Any way back to Monday, we had just loaded the boys up for the last stop when my cell phone rings and it's the Doctor's office telling me that I could get the boys in that day. So you know I'm always going to think things are going to run smooth and that since Doug happens to be home, I can take both in and have Doug's help all at the same time. You know one kid for one adult kind of thinking. Yes, I was wrong yet again in my thinking. Doug decided that it was going to cut it too close to the time Dougie would need to be picked up. Whatever, was my thinking I figured we had plenty of time. But, Doug was stubborn and stayed home while I took the two with me. Short story Daxton surprised me by listening to me and eating his treat that I took to bribe him with. While Connor, took the opposite tact. He ate his treat then went on to jump on furniture, climb on water fountains, and got under people and their seats. When I told him that if he would just sit and hold still, that I'd get him a treat he just held up his hand and said, "I already got a treat." Then there was the evil laugh.. In the end it ended up that the receptionist almost had a heart attack watching him and told the nurse she needed to hurry up and get those boys through. Lesson learned when you don't want to wait long, take Connnor.
Tuesday was a busy day with kids trying to run anarchy on us. Doug decided to be upset with me due to Connor getting his shots. By the end of the day Daxton told us to both "knock it off, your driving me crazy. I think I'm going to hit you both." When it came down to it Daxton hit Doug and that was it. The boy loves his mama.
Wednesday, well that became the most excitement for us. It started out good. Sun was out spring felt like it was on it's way. I had tons of energy. Then night came. I was up until three o clock in the morning before I crashed on the couch in the front room. Around three thirty, I woke up to Doug running through our closest and hearing the click of him cocking the gun. He stepped out of the door by the hallway and told me to take Connor and hurry downstairs. So here's the thing, I'm trying to wake up and think what's going on and what's going to happen to Doug. Obviously I didn't go downstairs like I was told. Then I heard Doug talking to someone and realized that there was someone on the back porch. The guy left and Doug came and told me to call the cops. So I did and gave info to the dispatch and waited. Apparently the guy was lightly tapping on the glass sliding door. I figured to get a response on if anyone was awake. He'd made up some excuses after Doug meet him at the door. He'd had his mag flash light with him. Doug figured he was going to use it to break the glass and get in. So after having to go through the run down with the cops. We all tried to get back to sleep. Of course, Connor was way to excited and Doug didn't get to go back to sleep.
Thursday thankfully was just a normal day and of course when night came the boys and I all ended up camped out in the front room.

Now I'm just hoping for uneventful weekend, but allowing the excitement for Dougie's b-day..

still here

Yey I'm back to the land of the living for the moment, so I thought what the hell I'll update the blog. I know that a lot of different things have happened I just can't quit remember all of them so I will try to give a good update on the boys and what they've been up to. The one thing I'm sure about is that spring still hasn't shown up. One of these days though, and I'll be waiting along with three boys who have stored enough energy to last for the summer. Playing in the snow has only fueled it.

Dougie is getting bigger, he's still liking school and gets mad if he loses out on a recess or gym. He has finished with his reading class and went to visit his pal the principal to read her a chapter out of a book. We've also learned what happens when his school goes into emergency lock-down. All I have to say is that it took me two hours to get my kid out and that Dougie's changed his mind and doesn't want to be a cop any longer. Sunday he tried to give the prayer for primary and ended up telling me and everyone that it was stupid and that he wasn't finishing it. Definitely takes after me.

Daxton's got us counting down the days until I can separate him and Connor for a few hours from each other. No matter how short his nails get cut he, still manages to put huge bloody scratches on Connor. He seems to spend a lot of the time sitting in the corner glaring threats at his brother's. I know it's tough being the middle child. Don't worry he does get a lot of one on one time with us lately, it just doesn't seem to be enough for him. He tried to tell me the other day that we we're going to trade Connor for a girl.. I just looked at him and said "No boys, are all I can handle, there's plenty of drama as is."

Connor's turned into quit the little rebel. I've learned that when my wallet or cell phone or anything has gone missing, to just go to the source. All I have to do is know something's gone missing and tell him that I need it. He then does this evil little laugh, (it's a little scary actually) and runs to go get it. If I'm lucky I can have it back within the first ten minutes of asking if not, he runs around holding it and taunting us. Good thing he's the youngest and I have the other two to help chase him down. He doesn't like to listen, I know go figure a child that doesn't listen, but this kid in particular laughs right in your face and goes about his business. So yeah it's me times ten.. Scary.

So the boys are still here ruling the house, taking no prisoner's in their path, and watching the Olympics with us. The two younger ones have really taken notice of the snowboarding. I think that, that might be something we can all learn together. They have also had their good moments helping their dad out while I've been dealing with migraines. They've gotten quit considerate you know yelling through the door for me so "it's not to loud on me," or telling me to close my eyes because their turning the lights on, and my favorite thinking that they should bring the movie's to me. They also got excited for my birthday, I think they we're more excited. Daxton tried to buy me a bigger knife. Apparently my pocket one isn't big enough. He also told me that he could get me a bigger one and he could have the other one. Yeah just what we need. Nothing to get them excited about whoever's birthday, what counts is the presents, cake and Ice cream. To me that's the best part them getting excited over nothing. Couldn't ask for anything better.

You ever have one of those days where the three year old walks up and says, "I want that bat up there." Before you realize that what he's asking for you've already handed him the bat, and he's walking off muttering something about Daxton. I know, I need to get myself out of my zombified state and pay attention a little more.

Christmas was fun, even though I tried to make it a non transformer Christmas, I failed. The boys received these really cute transformer quilts from my mom.. They are awesome. In fact I want one myself mom.. They also got more transformers. I'm thinking that we're going to have quit the collection by the time they move on to something else (that's a big if.)They also got a whole other bunch of toys. The most excitement they had about Christmas was that Dougie had to wake me up in the middle of the night to tell me Santa had eaten the cookies.

New year's eve was fun the boys lasted until eleven and then they we're out. Mostly they we're excited about staying up and eating junk food.

Dougie has gone back to school, and is now getting his front teeth coming in. During the Christmas break, Dougie and Daxton got into a fight over the Nintendo, which resulted in Dougie yelling at Daxton for breathing which got Dougie's guy killed. Daxton's response was to pick up a light saber and hit Dougie in the head. Believe me you could here that all the way upstairs. Of course Dougie had blood all over, which resulted in me calling my neighbor to come watch the boys, so I could run Dougie up to the hospital. By the time she got here the bleeding had stopped and her and Doug didn't think he needed to be taken in. So Dougie's had quit the sore head.

Daxton has been of course living in his own world. Saying the funniest things and just basically keeping everyone entertained. He seems to know every transformer by name, and is always battling himself. He's gotten a little cranky to be around, due to the fact of having to stay inside more than usual. He's has also really gotten into trying to get on the computer at every chance he gets. There was one night he got on there and locked us out. He plays with the neighbor and when she pulls something with the boys, Daxton retaliates now. He came inside yesterday telling me to lock the door, before Alena showed up and told on him. It came down to her taking his icicle and him pushing her down in the snow and throwing snow all over her.

Connor is still trying to keep up with his brother's. Sometimes I think Dougie really likes having Connor around. I caught him trying to give Connor a horsey ride on his back, but it looked more like a little gorilla hanging off his back. Connor has also discovered the microwave. Yesterday he tried burning down the house, while I was in the other room. When I got the smoke all cleared out and told him not to touch that again he said, "I was just cooking." My response was to immediately think of my sister when she tries to cook. Hmm they are related.

I'm hoping that this year is a good year for everyone. So late Happy New year.

So we're driving around doing a little shopping here and there, when one song that's been playing (and of course the boys are moving their limbs and heads to the music.) when it ends, we here let's listen to it again. Okay short story, they ended up making us listen to the song just short of twenty times.. Now wherever we go they want to listen to this song..

Yeah it's December now and of course that means Christmas.. yeah I'm going to tell people "Merry Christmas," I really don't care who I offend anymore.. So I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas this year. The boys are really excited for it and Daxton is now insisting that I call Santa Clause so he can talk to him.. He believes that I talk to Santa all the time and that mommy has him on speed dial. It doesn't hurt because now I get him to actually do more things for me. You know the little threat, "that I guess I will just have to talk to Santa about this." I know I'm a mean mom, but hey you use what you can to keep them in check. Sad thing is I really don't have them "in check." When it comes down to it all they own me..

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year. Went to grandma's and got to visit with family. I find it nice and therapeutic leaving the boys with a grandparent, so I can just have those few moments of coming back to the side of what it's like to be around other adults. The boys played with their cousins, and we even took them on a short "walk about." well that's what they decided on calling it with their aunt when we took them out to see "a big rock," I know sounds exciting doesn't it? Well it was actually a place down by the local college that we took them out and turned them lose.

Now we are home and things are always interesting around here, for one the boys get to watch all the big trucks go over across the street and fix the house that seems to have sunk.. yes now we get to watch all the work going on over there on them trying to save this house. When in what would have been the smart thing to do, from what I'm told by another neighbor, would have been cheaper for them to tear the house down and just build a new one. I figure, Oh well it's not my problem and it's more interesting to the boys this way. Of course the biggest excitement going on around here is Christmas is coming. The boys all have elf hats and are running around here, playing whatever it is they play involving elf's, Santa, and reindeer. I have sat them down and explained that Christmas isn't just about getting presents. But, hey their little boys and presents do kind of make it exciting. However I'm still working with them on the meaning of it.

So my goal this year is to not get to grinchy, and to enjoy everyday that I get.. Well unless the boys discover something new that might cause some concern, then I might have to remind them about the Madagascar Christmas movie and how Julienne get's coal instead of presents.

For those wondering what song it is that the boys are addicted to I've added it to the first song on the play list.

Mom,mom,mom,mom,mom,mom,mom,mom,mom... Get the idea yet?? There seems to be a lot of that going around, no matter what direction I turn these days the boys are always needing their mother. Sometimes it's not even my own kid's. Don't get me wrong I love these guys, but all the fighting and yelling and screaming. Plus the fact that they have the need to hurt each other. I'm feeling it's a good thing the holidays are coming on.. Yes that means I might have to leave them with their Grandparents and a certain aunt for a couple of hours.. I think of it this way their one of those gift's that just keeps on giving...

The boys had a fun little Halloween, you just can't go wrong with a holiday about dressing up, and knocking on doors to receive candy. Although they kept thinking that if they said "trick or treat," to any of us we would just give them candy. They we're even nice enough to spread their wealth of candy by sharing a piece or two.

However these dear little sweet boys have been up to the usual, riding a crib mattress down the stairs when no one's looking. Seeing just exactly what they can and can't land on their feet by jumping off of whatever comes into their view, and of course trying to run each other over on their bikes. But, when it comes down to one of them getting into trouble, they've changed their views from "all for one, and one for all," too "it's every man for himself." They even love it when one gets put on time out then they can play their new favorite game of taunting the one on time out because they can't get him. What they always fail to learn is that no matter what, he will get off time out.

Dougie has gotten quit fascinated with football lately, I know one of my kid's huh.. I just tell him he's got his Grandma's blood in him. I have learned he also has a little of my blood in him, by telling his father the other day that he needed to stay home from school, because he hates math... yeah he's not even trying to act sick anymore. At least he's being honest..

Daxton, he's always going to be another story. There will always be those moments when you just look at him and know he's going to say something and your not sure that's going to be good for you at all. This week he's let me know that I'm a failure. Yeah nothing like having your four year old point out that your a failure. On the other hand this is Daxton we're talking about and he will quickly smile and say just teasing you mom. Daxton is having a good life lately candy, playing, showing me how a computer works. You know everything you can expect from a four year old. Oh and just seeing his face when he talks about Christmas coming up is something to treasure.

Connor has been having his moments lately, realizing that mom is just going to keep walking even if he throws this great big moment of dramatics throwing himself of the floor of the store. He also has a temper on him, throwing one over the fact that Daxton wasted a good orange and left it on the floor. Man he gave a better lecture to Dax then I ever could have. He also had a lot of fun with his dad at the park yesterday, not expecting that dad would go through the tunnels and slides and crawl over the play set with him. That just made his and Daxton's day.

So the boys are being little boys, and having a good time as they go.. As Connor's new favorite founded word, "forever," I hope that they stay this way forever..

Connor turns three..

Connor is now three and I have no baby.. Well at least that's what supposed to happen. Connor still thinks and says he's the baby. I can't believe how big he has gotten. Of course he was spoiled with presents, balloons, made me make him a Mater cake, and of course luckily finally agreed to put on clothes when Grandma showed up. He has learned the word "forever," and now we are all being threatened with one thing or the other but, with him saying "forever," I guess we're supposed to be scared or know he means business.

After over a year the boys are finally settling into living here. Dougie's got friends to play with, which means they are here all the time. But, he's happy and that is what counts. He does get mad every time we send the kids home for the night. You win some and lose some too. He's also gotten into playing older brother quit well, by telling his brother the other night about how people grow and grow then shrink and die. Which then resulted in Daxton looking at me and sobbing "Dad's going to die." Then we spent the rest of the night comforting Dax, on how it was going to be okay and a phone call to his grandma helped. While the whole time Dougie sat there laughing. Yes Dougie is truly playing older sibling quit well.

Daxton has received a nickname around here. Houdini, because he's always taking off. Which has resulted in Doug now saying he pulled a "Boodini". Because of all of this my neighbor came over and helped install locks on the top of the doors, so that I can coral Daxton in. There is always going to be surprises when Daxton is around. I know that I should have not been surprised the other day when we showed up at their grandma's only to have him strip down within the five minutes and pull out his old pirate costume, that I had no clue he's packed, or even when he could have.

All three of the boys are excited for Halloween, they are going to be Transformer's and I will have to take pictures. They are all growing and I do have to admit, their growing fast. Well today I will admit it, but ask me on another day and I might have a different answer.

A good week..

If someone was to offer me a whole week of sleeping, I would embrace that dream.. Crazy I never thought growing up that I would be so tired all of the time and any quiet moment with me sitting relaxing I'm dozing. What happened to all the energy? Let me tell you that's what was taken from me and given to the three little boys I call my children, with some kind of extra power to it.

So besides the fact that I'm might be going a little crazy, it's been a interesting weekend and week. The weekend the boys had their aunt here helping me out with them. One moment they where all happy and following her around, making her read to them, standing outside the bathroom talking to her while she getting ready for bed, which they where supposed to be in already but, won't go there because their aunt is here and they are excited. Then when they find out that she's going to tell them "No" on a few things they can't handle that and try telling her to just go home. There's the thing the boys really, really hate the word "No". It doesn't matter who says it they don't like it no matter what.

It was nice having Cassie around to help out but, as soon as her tail lights where out of sight the kids all turned the smiles on that had me very wary of what their next move was going to be. Didn't take long An hour later I caught Daxton sitting on one of those big Rubbermaid lids, using it as a sled going down the stairs, while his two brother's and their wannabe sister watching with enthusiasm. To be honest I don't think they cared one way or the other if their brother got hurt or if he made it either way they where going to get a good show. Until mom stepped in. Then they spent the day plotting and sneaking around. I should have been scared but, I've just reached a point in "Shit happens," that or the boys have broken me.

I also learned this last weekend that power tools can be fun but, should not be left in my hands. All I'm going to say is that in an attempt to keep Daxton in the house I might have screwed the door shut. I admit this isn't my best moment in life, not being able to put a simple lock on a door, but I figure it could be worse.

However this week the boys are still on the go with life. Dougie had a horrible cough but has now gotten over it and when I made him stay home from school yesterday, he threw a fit. That one I did not see coming. Daxton, got sick, at five in the morning when he laid down on the floor like holding still, I knew something was up, Yes most kids are asleep at five and it's normal for them to be laying around, but not here. Once Daxton get's going he doesn't stop until he's forced to go to bed. So I had the scare there for a moment that maybe he had the flu, but six hours later after he awoke from his nap, he was back to transforming. He's also been chasing his destiny down the street today. Well that's what he yelled at me while I was chasing him. Connor, is determined to remain being the baby. I hear it everyday when he's arguing with Daxton about how he's not a big boy and that he's the baby. I tried explaining it to him since he's going to be turning three here soon, but no he's a baby. He also has it in for Daxton, although I think he uses it to get sympathy and a transformer band aid from me. He loves to pick fights with his brother's and then come tell me he needs a band aid because it hurts. I do admit that sometimes he is bleeding. That's how far he takes it.

But that's just another week for us, and to be honest I call them a good week..

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

I like watching these little guys grow, some days I feel it is going at a snails pace of them growing and other days I look at them and wonder what happened, their big. Mainly it's the days of the fighting that I feel that this phase will never end. To be honest I think that they will never grow out of the fighting stage..

Dougie has discovered football. Yes he truly is related to my side of the family. Although I don't come close to being a fan of football that the rest of them are. So I have played a lot of football catch lately. Watched NFL, on the television with him. If that's not enough he wants to go to a game now. So I have told him he needs to go talk to his grandparents, and his aunt. Of course now Daxton and Connor are taking note, and have gotten into playing it, especially the tackling part, they love that the most.

Daxton, has become that one child that you cannot and I mean not even a second, can you take your eyes off of him. Yesterday he lost privileges to riding his bike, actually he got the bike taken away completely. I would say that after the fifth time of chasing him trough the neighborhood while he peddled as fast as he can and causing me to re pull my knee, kind of made me a little mad. It's not bad that he rides the bike it's the fact that he likes to get out in the middle of the road, or he thinks he's big enough to go wherever his mind wants him to go.

Connor has discovered money, it's been going on for quit awhile. He doesn't like to just have a few coins in his pockets, no he likes to collect as much as he can. Every time you turn around that kid has money. He even told me the other day what was what, and he had it all right. He knows his pennies from a nickel, dime, and quarter. I actually have hope for him in that department. He never wants to get rid of it so I don't worry that he'll just throw it all away.

"Sorry, that's just not going to happen princess." Coming from Daxton, the other day as we sat waiting to pick Dougie up from school. There seems to be a lot of this attitude going on among the boys towards me lately. Dougie telling me that he can play and that he doesn't have to do any school work. Daxton thinking he's big enough to go around the neighborhood whenever he feels like it. (Lucky for me I usually find him over hanging out at the neighbor's) Connor, Connor well he likes to be as big as the other kids but, is still holding on to trying hard to be a baby. I know that I have many, and I do mean many years to come of these boys telling me what they think they can and can't do.. Now I understand why everyone said they grow up to fast.. Yes it's a very true statement.

I was getting all excited for this year's airshow, however it looks like they have canceled. So that means no pic's of jets and airplanes this year.. I do admit that I actually enjoyed that last year, it was one of the few times that me and airplanes being involved had a good time.

Dougie, so far seems to be handling school well, at least that's what I thought until he let it slip that he's been out pulling weeds with the principal. Why was Dougie having to do that? The only story I can get is that he, refused to help pick up trash on the day his class was assigned to. Well that is what he's telling me. I would like to say that by the time he get's out of this elementary school, he will know the office staff quit well, however that's already true. He seems to be the type that likes to keep things interesting.

Daxton has had a fun few weeks, visiting parks, going to stores, running over to the neighbors to just hang out, or his new favorite thing "keeping me on my toes," is to ride his bike up and down the sidewalk as fast as he can to get out of my sight. Yes I like being the crazy looking mother who can't seem to be able to keep her children under control in the neighborhood. My only hope is that he will have five boys who are exactly like him... Yes the famous mother curse has been said upon that child.

Connor has become another little streaker. Why my boys don't like to wear clothes and love to run around either in there underwear or diapers, is beyond me. So, yes if your ever driving down the streets searching for my house it should be quit easy all you have to look for is the kid in the diaper waving at everyone. Or in a diaper on all fours barking at everyone as if he's the neighborhood watch dog. Either way he really loves to be just hanging out in his diaper. Oh the fun I have in the mornings trying to get him to wear clothes so we can take Dougie to school.

There seem to be to many things that have happened but, for some reason I can't pinpoint which ones to tell. There's been Aunt Cassie chatting with me online telling me to tell the boys that she can see every thing they are doing. Dougie claims "I don't know how she's doing it but, I know she can't see us." Daxton, well he ran, jumped up on the couch and looked out the window and started waving to her. Connor well he just ran around not caring. There has also been the day that the boys went and stripped one of the neighbor's trees of it's branches and made themselves a little hut. (wasn't a big tree and was on the street side of the fence, and yes I was watching them but, had to step inside to sign for a package.)

Hopefully they might start calming down. Well that's more like a dream of mine anyway.

What is that??

I happened to look up in time the other day to see a weed bush riding around on a hot cycle(or whatever you call them). Yeah, I bet you can imagine what that would have been like, you know looking away to make sure you finally haven't lost all sanity and are actually seeing it happen before your eyes. I honestly can say I couldn't identify who was under all that. There where no legs, no arms nothing visible for the eye to detect that this big mass of weeds hadn't come to life and decided "hey I'm going to take that little boys bike for a ride." I was finally able to identify what child of mine was riding around in circles yelling "ye haw," with weeds piled all over him. Yes I have video footage, and yes you have probably figured out what kid it was. Daxton, for those of you who haven't quit figured out that Dougie uses him as his stunt man on everything.

Our adventures are slowing down now that school has started. Dougie has only tried to play the sick card on us twice. Although he's learned that computers are fun and he knows a few more people than he did from last year, I think he's going to be just fine this year. Of course that is what everyone says. I'm still trying to get used to him being gone all day and having to be left alone with Dax, and Con. Yes I will admit that sometimes I get a little worried when those two are getting along and playing together. I have also decided that Crayons, markers, basically anything that writes really can be bad in the hands of a four and two year old. Though I do enjoy their art work from time to time, Doug isn't quit sold on the murals that the boys put upon the walls for everyone to enjoy. This technique that they use is "grab crayon and run real fast down the walls until mom catches us." I hate that game.

Now that Dougie's at school during the day, I have time to work with the other two on how we shouldn't act like wild animals in the stores. Or teaching Daxton that he really doesn't have to hit everyone, even if they look at him wrong. My goal is to be able to go one day taking the boys places without tantrums, fights, or them calling each other whatever name they can think of in public. Maybe someday....

School starts.

Busy, busy, busy. That we are. Dougie is in his second week of first grade. He's slowly adjusting to the fact that he has to be in school and has adopted the attitude of what everyone figures out about school. That would be "I hate it," "Why can't I just play all day instead." Well that was the first week. This week he's getting into the routine a little better and life seems to be going as expected. Hopefully it will get better for him, he's always been the type that loves to learn. Yes, I know he doesn't get that from me.

Nobody informed me that I had to have Daxton on a year and half waiting list for pre-school. So, I haven't gotten him in, I'm still looking and hopefully I will be able to put his transformer backpack that he absolutely had to have to use. Let me tell you that it was very cute seeing Daxton with a big backpack strapped to his back walking through the store. That was how determined he was to have that backpack. He even had it packed the first day that school started for Dougie. Let me just say it's probably not a good idea to put six bananas in a backpack and forget about them.

Connor really shown that terrible two's suck. I mean it. Tantrums being thrown in stores until other people give in and hand him a sucker just to shut him up. It gets a little old. However he's come up with something that I would have never thought up. It's a struggle just to get him to hold your hand walking into a store, that now he holds his own hand, and he's very serious about this. Doesn't need to hold anybody elses just his own. Last week he tried to convince me that he was a baby and then an hour later try to convince me he's a really big boy. However I really shouldn't complain, he's not giving drivers near heart attacks by running out of the store and into the road this week.

Well it's the beginning of the year, we will just have to wait and see what this year holds for us.

Okay so I should have probably crossed over to the losing my insanity side. However I have managed to stay in my semi-crazy mind. As you can tell the boys have been working hard this time. Especially the two year old. Fortunately for us, we're not the only ones seeing the true colors of the boys shinning through.

We went and visited a new little cute nephew, and seeing my cute little niece. The boys went swiming and visited with relatives. The boys where taken to the zoo, where they had a great time. They where then taken to the kids discovery place. most of all we spent many, and I do mean many hours of driving. I'm glad to say that Grandma, Grandpa, and Cassie have survived that trip.

Dougie is getting ready for another year of school. He loves to rub it into his brother's faces that this time he will be gone all day. He does seem to be excited so I'm taking it as a good sign. He is making sure he get's in every minute of playing time with his friends. He get's so busy playing that he has to either take his lunch on the run or forgets about eating until bedtime arrives.

Daxton is still running around on his broken toe. It doesn't seem to bug him, but it still a long battle to try and keep him from doing any more damage. I learned on this last trip that Daxton doesn't need a movie to watch or even to be kept entertained. He does that all on his own. Cassie and I where kept quit entertained by him. Who would have guessed that a six hour drive wouldn't really effect him and his way of entertaining himself via "Boo world." I like to call it that where he seems to be able to tell you story after story or even have his own little battles waging as we drove down the road.

Now I come to Connor. I never thought that I would make it through Dougie and Daxton, but now I think I'm in more trouble than I realized. Connor has always been our little baby, little did we know that he was watching and learning and taking everything in. Now he's a Dougie and Daxton all in one. At the zoo, Connor made friends with a bat eared fox. Cute right, them running back and fourth separated by glass. Yeah stuff like that is what you think about a two year old doing the cute stuff. However I didn't think it was so cute of him when he decided to start a riot in nursery with twelve other little kids. It's pretty bad when you've been assigned the nursery and you have to haul out your own two year old to give to his father. Let's just say there was Connor running other kids over with the little riding thing when no one was looking. Connor at one point was using chairs as derby crash cars. By the end he was on top of a table running back and fourth with the other little boys cheering him on. He had all the other kids pick up on this that we had toys being thrown and children wrestling. As soon as he was taken out things calmed down. Like I said he's been watching.

Hopefully I will be able to stay on top of this. So far I think I'm on the losing end.

First broken bone.

I spent the other night with Daxton holding him most of the night because he hurt. Now I wish that I would have been able to pin point exactly where it was that he was hurt at the time, however he kept sending me on a wild goose chase of where to track down exactly where he was hurting. After giving him a dose of child's Motrin and him falling back to sleep soundly around four in the morning, I figured that he must be doing better. Well you see that's where I go again assuming things. He slept in late, but when he got up Tuesday morning he was limping, after we discovered that his foot was black and blue and swollen, we ran him up to the hospital. Now I went into mother mode where I carried him through the hospital wondering how bad it was, feeling bad that the kid had been in pain all night and I hadn't figured out what the hell was wrong. You know going through all the reasons of why I am a terrible mother. When it was all said and done I think that I was more upset about it than Daxton himself, who sat there smiling and handling everything quit well. The doctor's had a harder time convincing me that it wasn't as bad as I doomed it to be in my mind. So,there you go we've now had our first broken bone. All I can say it could have been much worse, lucky for us he will heal.

The rest of this week has been the same, children running around through the house and them picking on each other. However they did discover the Lincoln logs. Yes imagine my surprise at finding seven kids sitting around building with those logs the other day. There was no battles being fought, no kids running around like crazy throughout the yard. For some reason that really felt odd, kids being quiet and playing nice for once. hmm, wonder how long this will last?

Hopefully the rest of the summer will go by smoothly, and knowing that I just said that karma will probably come to kick me right smack in the behind for that. See doing much better at the language.

"Kate come look at this little gang," coming from Doug as he's peering down the stairs at his three boys, who happen to be sitting on the futon, with it pulled down. "What are they the tidy whitey underwear gang?" from me. And, yes they where all sitting their looking innocent enough for anyone who stands on the outside of knowing them. Yes, three little angels playing with their toys, being little boys. For us that really know them it's just a scene of them plotting what thing they can do to make life a little more interesting around here.

So, I can sit here and write about how my little boys are doing and what they are up to, right now as I am typing they are outside (with their dad.) playing cowboys with the neighbor kids. Believe me I think that I might sit this one out. The boys have been busy. We spent another week visiting the grandparents. The boys swam out at the lake, went fishing, caught "hoppers," as Connor puts it. Which is why their grandma's house had a few grasshoppers let loose in their house. Don't feel bad mom, the boys let them loose in our car too. Can you believe that for some reason I'm not a very big fan of bugs, thanks to the boys. Now that we are back home the boys think they will pick back up on waking up and pool hopping all day long.

Dougie has gone back to his dictatorship over ruling his brothers. He expects them to do as he bids them, unfortunately it kind of backfires and he ends up with Daxton telling him no, and when he's not wanting them around they follow his every move. At these moments I have to laugh, it's like their playing silent game of simon says. Dougie usually ends up pleading with me to tell the two to quit following him.

What would it be if I didn't have a good story about Daxton. I actually have one that happened today with Daxton going to his church class. Usually Daxton will go and have no problems, but today he was brought to me crying. He would never tell me what happened and there was no way he was going to go back. When we got home I finally got the story out of him. "The boy took my chair from me and would not give it back, and then the teacher wouldn't let me punch the kid." So there you go. I honestly belive he was more upset about not being able to retaliate against the kid.
For some reason, the "No hitting," law doesn't seem to be heard here.

Connor has really grown up in the last few weeks. The moment I never thought would come has finally arrived. I have waited for this prayed, begged, and practically gave up on the idea of Connor going downstairs and sleeping in the same room with his brother's all through the night. The one thing that I cannot belive is this, I waited six years for the night when the boys would all sleep through the night, it arrived, But I didn't sleep to well. You know when you get used to a certain routine it really throws you off when it doesn't feel right. Think about it my baby is not such a baby anymore.

Although we've still got a ways to go on things like, why public nudity is bad, why trying to hide and go seek in the stores really isn't something to do, and why just because Daxton meets someone new and he doesn't like them, doesn't mean we need to run up and hit them. However I sure we will get through these things too, it's only a matter of time.

off balance!!

"Just shrink, just shrink mom you can do it." Honestly if I could shrink down into a very small person I think that I would have used that ability on and off just to get away from my children at times. But, no I had to listen to Daxton tell me that I could shrink into a small person, so that he could put me in his toy truck and have me drive it.

So yes my life has been having those kinds of episodes for a few days now. You know the ones where they make you sit down to watch their concerts, the ones where they honestly believe that you can transform into some creature that they can control. For some reason the boys have gotten into their heads that they can tell me what to do, and I'm supposed to hop on it immediately. I'm afraid it's only a sign of things to come.

I have also learned that the boys are slowly learning the art of trying to deceive their mother. Too bad I know that when their being quiet, or walking by watching me with hands behind their backs I'm on to them immediately. What they don't quit understand is how I know every time. I actually have them believing me that I do have the sight of seeing everything that they are doing at all times. As they learned the other day when they and two of the neighbor boys, thought that they could tunnel under the neighbor's fence. quite amusing to watch believe me. Every time I poked my head around the corner of the shop out back they thought that they we're being "sneaky," and put their plastic sandbox shovel behind their backs. What they didn't expect was that I just told them to "have at it." Yeah believe me I wasn't worried about them actually getting to far. I was right, about twenty minutes later they we're all tired and throwing in the shovels. Call me crazy but really how far were they going to get with plastic shovels and dry hard ground?

Another thing I have learned is that I don't really know how to handle having the boys gone. I learned that when Dougie and Daxton thought they were going to stay with their grandparents for a few extra days, then come back home with them later. Sure I had Connor but, it was quiet, and I only had to chase one boy. There was no fights to break up and I only had one little boy to wrestle with at stores. It threw me way out of balance. Maybe quiet is over rated after all. All in all the boys are back and I can return to what I call "normal," it might not be normal, but it works for us around here.

Fourth of July.

It's been a fun few weeks for the boys. They had a good Fourth of July with going back to the Grandparents. I left with three came back with one and now I've got two. hmm. Apparently the little neighbor's girl missed us. I don't think she really wants to let us out of her sight afraid that if we leave we won't come back with any of the boys for her to play with. The boys have had fun fishing, visiting with relatives and playing with their cousins.

Dougie didn't want to leave so he got Doug's mom to talk us into leaving him and Daxton back between the grandparents. Dougie got to go fishing. He loves it and even though it wasn't his first time, I think he acted like it was. He is really growing up fast.

Daxton, well I think he's been pretty good at entertaining everyone with his imagination. He is also having a good time back with Dougie. He enjoyed the fishing even though he didn't catch any he liked the fact that he could play with them while they where in the cooler.

Connor is having a good time being the only child at home. He's been spoiled that he actually thought that he could just walk up and down the aisles of the stores with huge armfuls of treats. It wasn't a pretty sight with me chasing him down the aisles trying to get him to put up a few. He did finally cross over the line with his aunt Cassie this last week, he crossed it so bad that he's actually been banned from ever riding in her car again. I guess that happens when he decided that Cassie's car was a place for him to pick his nose and wipe all over. Really I wouldn't even let him back in after the first time. However Cassie's a little nicer than me, she gave him another try. Now he's back home with us running amok.

Popcorn anyone?

You know when you get that feeling like somethings watching you. Like maybe you've become the prey of someone's attention. Unfortunately that became the case for me the other day. Vacuuming the stairs the other day I became the target of Dougie, Daxton and Connor's undivided attention. I was on the third step heading up when I had that feeling pass over me, I turned around and yes, there they where. They'd pulled out their little folding chairs and were sitting their watching me. "Your our new show," coming from Dougie. I guess that's what I get for shutting their cartoons off and making them clean. Bad thing about is that they followed me around like that for the rest of the day, every time I turned around there they where with their folding chairs.

This week Dougie's being a little easier to get along with. I think that I might have to start worrying, this just doesn't seem right. Who knows maybe he's just getting older and realizing that he doesn't always get his way on things. No personally I have a feeling that he will be back to normal next week, if not tomorrow.

Daxton, well I don't know if you can call him Daxton anymore. These past few days he's decided on a new name for everyday. Friday he was Laser, Saturday he was Iceey, Sunday he was snowy, Monday he was thunder, and Tuesday he was racer. Today I have know what idea what to call him he hasn't given me his daily run down on life and what I need to do to make him happy.

Connor has decided that he's got to show some muscle lately. He's been picking more fights with Daxton more than normal. He tried to push Daxton down the stairs at one point. Thankfully Daxton could hold his own until I could get to Connor. Connor doesn't dare pick so many fights with Dougie, I think he's realized that Dougie is a lot bigger than Daxton and just laughs at him and pushes him down.

Doug and I had our first glimpse into what lie's ahead of us. This has happened a lot lately. It's not a good sign around here anymore that all three are getting along. You know something is coming when those three are running off together. We saw this the other day when the boys decided that they wanted popcorn. Instead of waiting for us to run to the store and buying more microwave popcorn the other day they decided that they where going to just take matters into their own hands. They got my air popper out and made popcorn. Needless to say their was popcorn all over after that. Team work is a good thing, but scary when these three put their heads together.
