Sunday afternoon hit me with a vengeance of pain and misery. Lucky for the kids Doug got home in time to take over. Although I don't know if that was the best for all of us. Saturday afternoon I got into a cleaning kick and ended up moving our heavy leather couch, along with the futon mattress, a dresser, and later that night Dougie's bunk bed (which isn't one of those light ones.) So by Sunday morning my back was hurting. By the afternoon my head was pounding, and finally that evening I had a full blown migraine and was sick. To tell you that I was able to go lay down and have peace and quit would be like saying that three certain little brown boys didn't exist. However laying in my room I wondered just what people heard walking down the sidewalk outside of our house. With my head pounding and children jumping on my bed and Doug running them out with doors slamming, I came to the conclusion that I was going to die by my children's noise. But just as soon as I thought that there came a loud yelling by Doug and then all was quiet. Later I found out that he had yelled the kids to sleep. Like I say I shouldn't get sick.
Dougie has become a little blunt lately. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing? The other night he told me that he wanted dad to cook dinner because he cooks it better. I don't know if I should be offended or use it as an excuse more often. Awhile back at the store he asked me if I could see dad and the boys, I told him they where up ahead of us. He then says very loudly to my mortification "Is he behind that really big lady?" I didn't look at anyone near us I just kept walking. I did hear a few giggles behind me. I have had to tell him over and over that we just don't say things loud when where out in public and certain things we just shouldn't say. I have come to expect Dougie to say anything anymore and just hope that it isn't anything embarrassing.
Daxton's imagination has not been on any vacation at all lately. I have come to see what new thing he is going to come up. Lately I have had to reenact sponge bob. Yesterday he was a scorpion and today he is a boworm. I find that when I take him to go pick up Dougie from school the other parents with their kids watch him. He really gets into the gravel playing, he swims or rolls and does whatever he wants, while I try to make him stand up and wait. When they walk by me they just smile and shake their heads and tell me that I sure have my hands full. I often wonder if they ever think maybe she has heard that one before, hmmm probably not.
Our little cupboard gnome has learned the phrase "I hate you." We have had to sit the boys down and tell them that, that is a bad word and is not acceptable in our home no more. Did any of them listen to it? You probably can already guess that answer. When I woke up Monday morning I discovered that Connor had two scabs on his head. When I asked Doug about it he told me that the boys where rubbing their heads across the carpet, (You have probably seen them do this and know what I am talking about.) and that he thinks that's how Connor got his scabs that look like there could have been horns there. I still haven't figured out why they think that is so fun to do.
Today I have had just one of my average days with them. Wake up get Dougie to school, get chased by Daxton and Connor who have discovered that if they pick their noses it grosses mom out. I had to drag to little boys home from picking up their brother from school covered in dust from head to toe. I cleaned up pickle mess that resulted in Daxton getting sick. Then only to turn around and have to clean up water all over the floor I just mopped that the two younger ones decided that they needed to go swimming in the kitchen on there bellies. I expect that tomorrow there will be more messes and more interesting things to come my way. Just one day at a time right? Halloween's only in a few days, so will see how that goes.

Do I get a redo?????????
All I can say is that I hope that bedtime comes soon tonight.. So far it doesn't look like I am going to be so lucky.
Today the kids must have decided that mom needed to be tormented. I watched them literally follow behind me and the vacuum and throw stuff on the floor. I got after them and gave up. I have had to clean up spills, throw up, and you know if your going to have kids you also have those days of sheer crap. There has been fights all day with Dougie going after Daxton, Daxton retaliating and Connor trying to punch both of them in the middle of it all. I had Daxton come tell me he's cooking the floor, only to discover that my bedroom lamp was on the floor upside down. He also decided it needed to be colored green too. The two younger ones have taken my hair dryer and plugged it in because they think that it's a gun of some sort. They have been into everything today. It just seems that I have been getting after them all day, now I can't wait until bedtime. I don't believe it's going to be any easier getting them to go to bed. I just want them asleep. Five minutes to myself would be great..
This week we've had everyone miserable with the cold flu, or whatever it is that is going around. It even got to Doug where he ended up having to take a day off from flying, and we all know that to him flying is his religion. But, he did however hit a bird this week which is quit interesting. Apparently the bird was hit around ten at night at over nine thousand ft in the air. Tell me what kind of bird would that be??
On top of everyone being sick, we had Sarah Palin come to town this week. Dang I really wish I had known sooner that she was going to be here instead of hearing it from Doug that morning. But I did however get to sit out on the back porch and listen to her. It was cool to hear her voice and yes she does sound like herself.
Poor little Connor has had the cold part of the sickness. I feel bad for him, I have had it to and I don't blame him for walking around crying and just being plain ornery. (I really can't wait for everyone to get better.) Connor is still playing cupboard gnome, but also has decided that he likes to play how many times can I get mom and dad to haul me inside. To tell you the truth it sucks..... He gets on his little motorcycle and drives out into the back alley road. He also has discovered that he too can where Dougie's backpack. It's kind of funny to walk up the stairs to see a two year old, wearing a backpack, mom's shoes and a if I am lucky a diaper.. That's the thing with Connor these days your having a good day if you only have to chase him down about seven times to put a diaper back on him, anything past that and it's just going to be a long day with him.
Daxton now he no matter how bad he is feeling, he will still be able to not only entertain himself but, anyone watching him as well. I watched one afternoon as his rocking horse pepper take off with him on it. Apparently it wouldn't let him get off and was really out of control. I really wish that I could have gotten that on video. My favorite this week is one evening Daxton came over to me and told me to sit down on the couch. I went sat down and he said "are you tired?" and I told him that I was then he told me to close my eyes. He then started singing and it was the cutest thing, he thought he was singing me to sleep. Which then made me suspicious as to why he wanted me asleep? So I opened my eyes when it got quiet only to see him sneaking down the stairs, but he saw me open my eyes and quickly came over to sing me to sleep again. This went on for about twenty minutes. He sang the same song over and over and it was "twinkle, twinkle little star the itsy spider went down the spout up above the sky twinkle, twinkle little spider." Isn't that just cute or what? I still have know idea what that was all about, but I think that will always be one of those moments that will stick with me.
Dougie has been kind of ornery with us this week. I bet your saying to yourselves, yeah so what else is new? Well I guess that really nothing new is going on, but he sure is being nice to everyone at his school. I get to go have parent teacher conference tomorrow. I guess I will really know how he is doing. How ever Doug (my dear sweet husband who thinks that I have enough time on my hands to help Dougie figure out one more thing in life,) decided to get out the old super Nintendo and let Dougie play it. Well he loves it, but hell have no fury compared to a boy who cannot make mario jump right onto the damned tree......... enough said. (thanks Doug.)
Any way maybe they'll be nicer tomorrow, right? I think I'm going to make them clean up the leaves tomorrow....

Infeststation of the cupboard gnome..
So I'm a little worried. There hasn't been any floods, windows breaking or other damage going on lately. Not that I'm complaining, it's just what happens if I get too comfortable with it being this way??
Yes Daxton is doing wonderfully well that I'm starting to think that I have done something right for once with one of these kids. He doesn't look like he has any infection in the burns, or around the skin. He has however perfected the art of playing on people's sympathy. We go to the store, school, and even the neighbors, and as soon as he hears "ah what happened?" He immediately holds out his hands and gives him the what I like to call the "Bo bear look," and say "Dougie hurt me." Then we end up having to tell them he fell into relatives fire stove for them to go "oh poor baby." Really I can't blame them I mean have you seen him, his face just screams innocent no matter what. Which I suspiciously think he inherited it from an uncle, (Rand you might know what I'm talking about.) He's been acting like the same Dax that we all know and love. I think he'll be just fine. Right now he's planning a sleeping party. (Don't ask I have know idea.)
Dougie has been sick on us again, Thursday morning Dougie came up to me and said that he didn't want to go to school. Later he told me he was sick. I checked him and didn't see anything wrong, I thought well he just trying to play the sick card and so I sent him to school. Around ten thirty we got a call saying that Dougie had thrown up in class, and that he was as white as a ghost, and we needed to come pick him up. As soon as Doug brought him home I immediately wanted to kick myself. Man was he sick.. Friday I took his fundraising packet into the school office. I ended up talking to his principal and learning that the office just really loves Dougie. I also learned that he is doing much better too. Which is a relief to me, I have been worried after the fighting last week.
Our house seems to have a huge infestation of a cupboard gnome. You might know him as Connor. I find myself either in the kitchen, bathroom, hallway, or my sink in my bedroom only to be encountered by him. The funny thing about this is you never know he's in there. I usually see him poke his head out and quickly close the door. A few times he has actually scared me, ex specially when it's dark. He also seems to be suffering from a huge case of thinking hes not getting enough attention. I'm pretty sure it has to do with Daxton and his burns. There has been a lot of punching, kicking, biting, and even pushing. Most of it's aimed at Daxton when he comes up to sit on my lap I end up with a huge fight on my hands between the two. I can't wait until that phase is over.
Well it's been nice for the last few days, who knows I might have spoken too soon, considering the fact that Dougie just tried to knock Daxton out by shoving him into the wall. Someday they might all like each other. Hopefully.

Their all going to laugh at you!!!
So yeah I know Lisa will appreciate that title (hint Adam Sandler). And maybe the fact that ya you can all laugh at me too.
I have learned that these boys are just getting more adventurous than ever. And all I can say to that is thank you to whoever invented caffeine, especially the drink Monster. Pepsi is for lighter days.
Well you probably want to hear more about my little monsters, I get to say that I live with them everyday. Of course Dougie does actually believe that he is this week, that and superhero. Dougie came to me yesterday saying that he has spider man web snot, yes you heard me spider snot. So me being me of course told him that maybe he is spider man, (Okay okay I know I shouldn't have done it sometimes I think about kicking my own butt.)so he went on down to the rec room downstairs to ponder on this. I'm just guessing because I really didn't want to know what he was going to do.
Earlier that morning I had Daxton and Connor coloring at the table. After about five minutes of coloring here came to little boys with marker all over their faces. At that moment I thought hmm what have we got here, well my answer came with Daxton saying "I am optimus prime." I should have known with the sideburns he colored on his cheeks. Who knows what Connor was going for with that goatee he was sporting.
Last night however is my favorite, I don't know how I kept a straight face. I was on the computer and I clicked onto the twilight movie trailer, when Dougie asked me "what animal is that?" I said "It's not an animal." Again he said, "No What animal is that?" I finally told him that it was a vampire and that they are not real. It got real quiet. At this point let me just say I should have known it was coming. Then Dougie informed me "Mom I have sharp pointy teeth." Which sent Daxton to pondering this and soon there was an argument because Daxton also has sharp pointy teeth. So I left it up to them to decide which one of them is a vampire.
This morning was another good day for being outside. Daxton and Connor decided they wanted to be outside and I thought yeah that's a good idea. So I took them and Connor's little power quad outside they rode it around for awhile. Then started in on the neighbor's dogs, which she now has four. So after I got Connor to quit throwing rocks at them, Daxton and Connor got into the wagon and directed me to push them down the back ally rode. Halfway down I turned around with them and started back for home, which got Daxton upset. He jumped out of the wagon and took off running. I finally caught him behind the church building that is next to our house. I brought him back and told him to stay in the yard. Well that wasn't going to go over well with him he ran over to Connor's quad and going two miles an hour took off down the back alley. Well let's just say that I happen to be faster than two mph. Yeah I caught him just in time for Doug to show up with Dougie. I looked and Doug and said, "get them inside." And he did.
They have been playing all day and telling me all sorts of wonderful things, like Daxton likes me when I'm pretty, and Dougie turning on the outside light so that Doug will be able to find which house is ours tonight. And Connor who I seem to be in some kind of pulling hair war. Imagine that, he doesn't like it when his hair gets tugged back. But, the two younger ones took late naps today so I have a feeling I'm going to be up late for awhile. I'm pretty sure they have a few more things that they want me to know.
So all in all in hasn't been to bad of a day. Let's just hope that it stays that way for awhile.

and the world goes round and round
So I haven't posted in a few days, but I have an excuse. I was sick and I can even have my mother sign a note for it.. It doesn't mean that nothing happened because let me tell you or maybe you have already heard that it was still a regular Brown family weekend.
Friday we left to go visit the grandparents for the weekend of Connnor's birthday. Which was really fun for Doug traveling with three little boys and one sick wife. (who happened to be on Drameen) So with me half knocked out and the boys in the back seat we actually made really good time. I don't remember but, to me it still felt like it went fast. When we arrived we took the boys to Doug's brothers house because they decided to have a family party for Connor that night. Things seemed to going okay, for the first ten minutes then sitting there on the couch I heard Daxton cry. I went over to see him on the floor, I picked him up to discover that he had been burned by the fire that they had going in the stove. So after an hour or so of cold water and wash cloths put on his arm, we got back to my mom's just in time for them to take over care of him while I ended up being really sick. Good thing for Grandparents and Aunts who are willing to take care of him all night. By morning we decided he needed to get into the doctor's so after being told he had second degree burns and that he will have to be in bandages for a few weeks, he has decided that he hates birthdays and that Dougie is not his favorite person anymore,(He says Dougie and his cousin pushed him into the stove and now holds them responsible for his ouch es.)The only good thing is about this is that he has crossed over to the good side which means he is mamma's boy again and no longer trailing his dad everywhere he goes, Well just for a few days anyway.
So after a weekend at Grandma's were back home where Dougie has gone back to another week of school and it seems that it's been a better day for him. Connor on the other hand now has gotten a little sick. Poor kid it just doesn't seem to be the best remembered birthday by us. Although now he has his little battery powered quad to ride around on and taunt his brothers with. And Daxton well he just believes that he has extra padding now with his bandages on that he can crash Connor's quad more and not get hurt cause it protects him, so he says.
Oh well there's still a carnival this week at Dougie's school, I can only imagine what might be coming.......

It's only tuesday!!!!!
I don't know where to begin, probably with Connor since his crimes are the least compared to the other two.
Sunday found us outside with Connor and Daxton playing. Connor has a thing for dogs. I don't know if he belives he is a dog or what. (He barks at them all the time.) The neighbor has two black labodor dogs, that always bark. Connor likes to harrass these two dogs wheather he runs back and fourth along the fence or if he tries to reach through the fence to grab them. Well sunday he found a new way to get to them. He found a long stick, and decided that he could poke them, So after getting into trouble and getting his stick taken from him he waited until I turned my back and found a new stick and went behind the two sheds where he couldn't be seen to poke them.
Later that evening they were back outside, I can't quit remember what Doug told me why Daxton got mad but all I know is that I was walking out to the porch when I heard something Daxton yell and saw a rock hit the window to the screen door, yeah you can pretty much guess what happened. So with Daxton breaking his first window, We figured that, that might be the topper of the week, but it isn't...
Monday we can't quit tell who is responsible for the door but, we have narrowed it down to the two older ones, unless Connor has learned how to use the screwdriver. Doug discovered that the door to our bedroom closet, the one to the hallway had, had it's bottome hinge taken off. with the screws out. So hmm I can't get them to tell me straight who did it, they keep telling me the other one did it. My favorite is when Daxton says Connor did it, I think not...
Now it's only tuesday and I think that Dougie couldn't be left out, no I think it just comes down to the fact that the kid finally had, had enough. I took Dougie to school worrying about maybe that wasn't what I should have done, because he still had a cough, but I took him anyway and figured that if he got to bad that they would call me and tell me he was sick, but they didn't so at eleven fourty we went to go pick him up. We watched all the other kids come out of class but, there was no Dougie, seeing the teacher waving to me I walked over to talk to her finding out that Dougie was at the principals office that there had been a fight. I went to go to the office but, was intercepted by Dougie, his gym teacher and another boy holding his stomach. And the end of all of this is what I have come to understand. Dougie was in gym, this kid and Dougie don't get along and that the other boy is known for taunting Dougie. On this day Dougie reached a point of having taken enough of this crap and punched the boy in the stomach. I guess they said their suprised; That the kid didn't hit back but, there was also that fact that Dougie hit him hard enough to knock him to the ground. After getting Dougie home and hearing his side I think that this kid is the same one that last week pulled his arm and hurt Dougie. I told Dougie I don't think that kid will be bugging him any more.
Who knows what else these kids are going to pull. I don't know if I am cut out for all this. Are boys always like this?? I don't remember this much happening with us when I was growing up... Or maybe I just refuse to think that I wasn't perfect......
Hair is called fur!!!
It's been a little quiet lately. It's kind of nice, but wrong at the same time I don't know why..
Doug bringing Dougie home informing me that Dougie had, had a bad day at school. After getting the deatails of school out of the way we soon figured out that on top of a bad day at school he was sick. It's very rare for Dougie to hold still. So when he laid down and didn't move I knew something was wrong with the kid. So with their leader out sick the other two haven't been that active, I think they don't know what to do that and at the moment Daxton has assigned himself to Dougie's nursemaid. I don't know what goes on in that head of his. It's actually find of funny to watch Daxton take a cold washcloth and stick it on Dougie's head and say "alright, this will make it better alright."
But even with that the three of them have still had their interesting moments. With Dougie he tried to convince me "that hair is called fur." When I told him that only animals have fur, no I was wrong again with him. He grabbed his hair and said "No when you have a lot of hair like me, it's fur." then he angerily stomped off. Personally I think he is feeling a little better.
Daxton is a whole diffrent kid. With him and Connor having another battle between them he came crying to me and was really upset. He kept saying that he hurt. So me thinking I could convince that it was all gone decided to tell him that I took all of the hurt and rolled it up into a ball and threw it out the window. Well I was wrong there too. He started to cry and said "No don't throw it I love that hurt ball." Appartently he grabbed the ball back from the window and walked away telling Connor that mom had tried to take the ball and throw it away. Wow what an immagintaion.
And with Connor this morning I watched him walk up to the dishwasher and sit down in front of it and argue with his reflection. This went on for about ten minutes with him yelling at himself, there was even finger poking. I finally had to put a stop to it before I don't know what..
So yeah it's been quiet, but there is still the rest of the day and always, I do mean always tomorrow.

I've crossed to the shit happens side
As you can tell from the title this week has yet been another great wonder some week with the boys, It all started with a trip to wal-mart:
I happened to be walking by the Halloween section, where I spotted a little lion costume and immediately thought of Connor, soon after I discovered optimus prime, with bumble bee shortly after. Well we weren't going to get past Daxton without him not knowing, which resulted in a day of transformers running amok. I spent the day with optimus prime and bumble bee in the great fight against their nemesis the little lion (I know a very very frighting bad guy.)
I thought that maybe that would be the most exciting thing to happen this week concerning the boys. Well I was wrong again. No the week could not go by that easily.
I should have known that things have been too quiet for us, otherwise I would have been on alert. I was washing dishes thinking that movie downstairs is keeping the boys entertained. But, it happened again, Dougie came in to the kitchen looked at me and said "Mom I don't feel good, and I threw up and didn't make it to the bathroom." So I grabbed the carpet cleaner and scrubber, and walked by the stairs where I happened to hear drip, drip, drip, and thought you know that doesn't sound right. I go downstairs and find that in the laundry room above the washer there is water pouring out of the ceiling. I quickly figure out that it's coming from the bathroom upstairs so I run up to find out that there is a lot and I mean a lot of toilet paper shoved into the toilet and water is spilling out. After I unclogged the toilet I decided to go and asses the damage downstairs. There is still water falling down left over from upstairs. Figuring I'd better get this cleaned up I turn around to find Daxton with a big smile on his face " It's raining in the house." What more is a person supposed to do when they hear that but think why is this not surprising me.
I do have to be proud of myself for not cursing or screaming, but just shrugging it off knowing that I have many many years ahead with these boys.
Well today is a new day with Dougie off to school (he really insisted on going because his friend is supposed to be back today which happens to be a girl named gabby.) and with my two little Braveheart war painted wannabe warrior's making me go capture their dragons and de-poking them. I can't even guess what's going to happen next, so I'll keep you posted.
